About five years ago I had the most memorable nightmare. I was sleeping
when I dreamt of seeing a desert storm coming out of nowhere to swallow
Nairobi. Desert storm is that dense dust storm which comes to cover
everything. I heard people screaming with fear as the storm began to
swallow the eastern part of Nairobi. I screamed, “Oh my God, don’t do
this!” After which, strangely, I heard Moi’s voice scream, “Then take it!”
The storm vanished. I didn’t know what I should get according to Moi’s
voice.

I had a big story in the morning. I informed people close to me, “Watch
out, Nairobi is going to be attacked by political violence.” They wanted
to know when but I said, “I don’t know, but soon.”

When we were coming to the General Election I became uneasy that things
might break up for the worst of what I had seen. I started telling them,
“I don’t trust the mood of the general election.” But smoothly the general
election went through. It left me puzzled until the arrival of the recent
violent demonstration in Nairobi that, indeed, swallowed Nairobi. But, it
vanished just as quickly as the desert storm in my nightmare had done.
When something like this happens it leaves you wondering whether,
generally, what happens is a predestined matter. There are many things
which are now unfolding which I saw when I was boy, ages ago…
What are dimensions of perceptions and when does fate come into play?
